Wild Animal Safari

These pictures posted out of order. Most are from the zoo/safari, the ones of them in capes are from today at home playing "Incredibles"

I had to come to my local Krystal to get a high speed connection to upload some videos. Yesterday we went to Pine Mountain GA where they have a wild animal safari. You can rent a van and drive through a pretty big area where elk, deer, zebra, emus, ostrich, buffalo, water buffaloes, giraffes (although we didn't see those) and a few other animals come up to the car and you can feed them through the windows. It was pretty neat. They also have a smaller zoo area with animals that wouldn't do so well just walking around with all those other animals like bears, Ligers, tigers, wolves, lions, and some others. Joseph and Holly loved it. I forgot to bring the Easter pictures and videos, so they will have to wait for later.

Joseph is doing well and is keeping very busy seeing all his friends and going to all his favorite parks and playgrounds. We have been to Bouncing Bob's like five times in the past week (that's a giant indoor area full of the moonwalk bouncy things). He has done much better taking his medicine in the past few days, so hopefully he has adjusted to taking it everyday. His hair has continued to fall out as you can see on the video, but I think it's slowing finally.

We are enjoying our last few weeks in Atlanta seeing all our friends and having fun as a family. Thank you to everyone for your continued prayers. Gillian and I are definitely needing them too as despair and feelings of hopelessness are always lurking nearby. Thank you for posting all your comments as well, they continue to be extremely encouraging. Oh and to answer some of you, no, I am not going to open an illegal medical clinic, I guess the sarcasm didn't translate well.

I'll try to post the easter pictures soon, but enjoy the videos from the safari, sorry they're kind of all the same.

brilliant. i'm sure that reminds you of driving through downtown Memphis, only replace the animals with bums and vagabonds.

I love the way you said "Oh, that one's Steve" without missing a beat! :) That emu was kind of scary looking - like it might peck right through the window! Many people in Dominica continue to pray! I'm going to be in the U.S. for a whole month in April and I hope to see all the Peabodys. :)

Ashley, they were scary. I was scared at the beginning before I realized that my window should only be halfway down and zebras and elk were sticking their faces inside the car. Joseph was a little scared; he didn't venture too close to the window, but Holly was quite fearless. An aggressive ostrich just barely missed a meal full of her fingers.

Allen - I wanted to tell you that I check your blog regularly to see the progress that Joseph is making. You and your wife are truly inspiring to listen to - the grace and faith you demonstrate in the face of many heartaches, hardships, and frustrations is amazing. Good luck to you all in your transition to Tennessee. It will be a blessing to have your families close to help support, love, and nurture your kids! Don't ever second guess your decision to spend time with your son - love him and enjoy every second of that precious personality of his - what a true gift it is to be a parent and to experience the unconditional love of a child. I will continue to pray for Joseph that he may experience joy, happiness, and love. I will also continue to pray for you and your wife that you may experience a sense of peace, that your spirits may be renewed with each rising sun, and that you may continue to rely on God's neverfailing plan in your lives. Love one another fully and communicate these feelings to each other.
With continued love and prayers - Erin (Chaney), Thomas, and Owen Cabell

Hello Peabodys,
The pictures and video are awesome. It was good to see that you kept Holly from jumping out the window. I can't wait for you guys to move to Nashville!

Uncle Dave

PS
I may need to take a visit to the underground practice. I have a very controversial pain in my stomach.

Dang! Ange took my comment about the Liger....

It's still pretty much my favorite animal.

I want to share with you the words to a hymn that God used to comfort and encourage me in a difficult time. The hymn's title is "In Heavenly Love Abiding" and it is sung to the same tune as the "The Church's One Foundation".

In heav'nly love abiding, no change my heart shall fear;
And safe is such confiding, for nothing changes here.
The storms may roar without me, my heart may low be laid,
But God is round about me, and can I be dismayed?

Wherever He may guide me, no want shall turn me back;
My shepherd is beside me, and nothing can I lack.
His wisdom ever waketh, His sight is never dim;
He knows the way He taketh, and I will walk with Him.

Green pastures are before me, which yet I have not seen;
Bright skies will soon be o'er me, where the dark clouds have been.
My hope I cannot measure; my path to life is free;
My Saviour has my treasure, and He will walk with me.

My family and I will continue to pray for Joseph's healing, for you to be comforted and encouraged, and for a smooth transition to Nashville.

I got beaten to it twice...
"It's a liger- it's like the best I've ever done".
Dudes- you all have Skills!
Allen, I swear I won't tell anyone if you write me scripts for Ambien.

We loved seeing you at the park!! I've got to work on my teleporting skills to see you in TN.

That place looks awesome! And, yes, Emu's are totally scary. And so are geese. One bit my mother in the stomach when I was in high school - one of the funniest moments in my life (she was fine and tried to beat it to death with her pocketbook).

I want a cape.

Gill, Al, Joe and Holly,

Missing you all very much here in Oxford. Joe P, after brain surgery, there is no need to be afraid of an emu, especially since you and your uncle sam used to wrestle them at nana and granddad's. I am still praying for full healing and rest in Jesus.

Sambo you should'nt be broadcasting on the blog about our emu's. Its supposed to be a secret like Daddy Bear Peabody's underground medical practice..Margaret forget about the "ambien" scripts....its the "baby ambien" scripts that the underground practice is specializing in especially for newborns and any kids that are teething.I think I gave out the wrong blog address the other night!!the correct one is " www. Daddy Bear Peabody's.underground medical practice.blogspot.com". We are all very happy that life is good in Atlanta and that Holly Bear and Joseph Bear are being good little bears for Mommy Bear and Daddy Bear!!We love you all tons and tons and miss you a lot.Sleep sound in Jesus.1st.Peter 2:9 says "You are a chosen generation,a royal priesthood, a holy nation,His own special people that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light" This is the scripture I have in the kitchen beside the 5 of your names......Lots of love and kisses Nana Grandad and Davey

My dear sweet one,
I hope that you feel loved.
That my love would penetrate your soul
That it would be a healing comfort
That it could make you feel truly special
Do you know I love you?
Is my love enough?
Enough to make you feel at peace?
Enough to make you feel protected?
Enough to make you feel unscathed?
As I hold you, please feel loved.
Let it penetrate your heart.
Let my love shout ever so loudly.
Let my love make you feel whole.
Let my love help you know you are o.k.
Is my love enough, if the world has nothing left to offer?
If your health fails?
If your body fails you?
Oh please, Lord, let my love be enough.
