New Issues

Today Joseph has been very off-balance and uncoordinated. He has been complaining of headaches for the past few days too. He also seems not himself--unusually goofy and confused. We initially thought that this could be due to coming off of his steroids and so we gave him two doses today, but it doesn't appear to be having any effect. So, unless he dramatically improves overnight, we're going to head back to Memphis in the morning to get some scans and see what's going on. It is not very likely that this is tumor regrowth so soon after surgery, but I don't know what it is. It could be infection/inflammation from the surgery or something like that.

We're very concerned and sad that we have to go back. Hopefully there will not be a major issue and we can come right back. We are very tired and were hoping the end of steroids would be a positive thing...so please pray for our endurance and for Joseph's as well.

Praying for an easy trip and that Joseph is better even before you get to Memphis. Praying for a day full of joy for Joseph ( like he and Mimi had the other night). If you are hungry when you pass through here, we would love to welcome you to Moe's. Also, Joseph would love Casy Jones Village. Constantly praying for a miracle. Love, Martha and Karl

Sorry to hear that Gillian. I was praying that there was 'easy' explanation and fix for the little boys headaches....and so sorry you having to make another trip and more worries. I am sure beyond difficult to watch Joseph start to stumble again. Safe Travels and hope you can find a Moes along the way! I am thinking of you and sending your hugs and strength. Please keep us posted and know we thinking of you. LOVE YOU, Jody

Gillian and Allen,

We are praying for you and your family. I am so sorry for what you are going through. We will not give up. Your precious update about being held was such a treasure for you to share. May He bless you and comfort your hearts this very moment.

Gill, I am sitting here bawling my eyes out. Thank you for posting that Natalie Grant song on your blog...the words are incredibly appropriate and struck me deeply. I can see that God must be sustaining you and Allen because I have no doubt that a lesser person would crumble under the fear and sadness of this trial. I must admit I struggle to believe in my head what I know to be true in my heart: that God is GOOD and IN CONTROL, even in the midst of this. It doesn't seem possible that He could be both and this could be happening, but His word says it is true and I will choose to believe it. I'm praying that you and Allen will continue to walk in the faith that seems to have struggled and blossomed over the last several months. That He will bring you to a whole new level of trust...and that He will completely and miraculously heal Joe P. I love you!!
